DIEDRICH ROASTERS FOR SALE...

I have a IR-40 which looks like new, and a IR-3 which looks like hell. I thought I'd look for offers before I put 'em on Craig's List.

Roaster is not like a toaster, or a roller coaster. Malabar has lots of moisture, I like oysters too, why must we pay so much for Jamaica Blue, when it's true, that a good Mexican or Ethiopian is a better brew.

I still remember the first time I had coffee brewed from freshly roasted beans. It was at Dunn Brothers Coffee on Grand Avenue in St. Paul, MN many years ago. I was instantly addicted to the full rich flavor... it changed my understanding of what coffee should taste like. Nothing can compare to cup brewed from freshly roasted beans. Roasting ROCKS!!!!

Remember Roasters, Earthworms love to eat chaff and old coffee grinds are great for composting! Earth day is Tuesday, April 22, and with the spring weather arriving earlier and earlier, it's good to give to farmers.

Thank goodness. I wasn't joining until I knew Dennis was here!

I'm also a homeroaster and am loosely involved with a tiny micro roaster/shop opening here. Mostly I hang out, cup coffee and talk roasting. Kurt does all the real work.
Dennis True Comment by Dennis True on April 7, 2008 at 7:44am
ok everybody can relax I'm here now!
I am a homeroaster (RK Drum primarly) but I have dabbled in a few other methods in the past.
I plan on opening a coffee shop when i retire from the Navy in a few years.

I believe your conclusion is correct. If your growth and profitability curves match most cases that I'm aware of, you'll be less able to afford equipment after 1 year than you are before you open. Buy good quality equipment at the start that will me…

Agreed, it is best as a subtle hint to complement another flavor. I like pairing it with a nut flavor, caramel, or vanilla... but only in levels that do not totally overwhelm the coffee. If you have a softer apple flavor available, it is a nice comp…

Is there some consensus on a preferred method for cold tea prep? I would imagine the product is different with each method, but is there a majority and minority camp? Just curious.
