Greetings all, from Sherman Oaks, California---basically Los Angeles. My home roasting epiphany began maybe 4 months ago. It is now my obsession, addiction, and passion. I cut my roasting "teeth" on a unit that that died the other day (Nesco), and in a way I am not upset. It's time for me to go full steam ahead. From "googling", it seems that the Gene Cafe might be a good choice as a top of the line home roaster. That being said, I've even entertained having a small commercial unit in our home. But these machines seem to need venting and gas hook ups. So back to "top of the line" home units I go. Any thoughts, or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers and thanks,
Jeff

Just curious, I was discharged in 1973 so I have been out of the GI coffee loop for awhile. I donated a Zass grinder to a soldier I know leaving for Afganistan. I just couldn't stand the thought of him having to drink what I think they offer them.
