Pangi,

I am a small coffee farmer in Honduras and I sell directly to small roasters in the US. I bought the plantation last Feb. Although I currently do not coffee from my plantation, I have some great altitude (3500+ feet) coffee that was prepared using the dry process in the Marcala area. I live in San Antonio and am returning home 19 June. I can bring a few pounds of green beans for you to try. If you like them we can talk. Furthermore, I settled near the small town of San Jose de La Paz and would love for you to come and visit the farm (and other farms around). I can even take you to other coffee areas in Honduras (Paraiso, Copan, Libertad) so you can taste their coffee there. You can hop in a Tour Bus and be in Antigua, Guatemala, the same day.

Hi all, I am neither a producer or a farmer but am interested in meeting some. I'm a home roaster looking for ways to share my passion with my local community. I might be selling some beans at the local farmers market this year, fingers crossed. If it happens I'll be too big to buy from places such as SM due to prices but too small to make big orders of greens form importers. I would love to know if there are any farmers/producers who sell directly to roasters in the US that would be interested in starting a relationship with small batch roaster? Love to hear from anyone interested. Thanks.

Working to convert a conventional, full-sun coffee orchard to organic, shade-grown coffee on the island of Maui. The Kula region of this island provides some nice conditions for growing arabica beans.
Would love to compare notes with other growers or answer questions to anyone interested in growing coffee.
Aloha!

Hello all. I am a coffee roaster living in West Java, Indonesia. I came here 10 years ago, from my home town of Wellington, New Zealand. The company I am with, Merdeka Coffee, works with small hold growers around Indonesia. Therefore although we do not grow ourselves, we work very closely with growers in places such as Central Java, Indonesian Papua, West Java, West Sumatra. Anyone ever heading over this way, feel free to drop me a line. Visitors are always welcome

I'm all for it when it comes to things like "Kona Blend" or the other crap that commodity roasters pass off on unsuspecting customers but for an espresso blend or other blend that makes no specific claim of origin I don't think a roaster should be...

I agree with Shawn (and John) that this is a good idea. John has the right idea about the concept: it is a marketing tool use to enhance the consumer's perception of an aura surrounding the coffee. Knowing the country of origin helps to add to the...
