So excited this is already being discussed. I have been chatting with my good friend Tim about this since he participated in his first jam in Hot-lanta this past fall. January if you're already up to something I'm not trying to steal your thunder, but if not, I invite you to join me and help plan a jam at the LRBC late this month. We close at 2pm so it will be a true "after hours" event. I'm thinking a Friday or Saturday night would be best...2 hour event...beer...coffee...late art throwdown...
By the way, congrats on what I read was a great showing in Tacoma. Also, read about your success at the throwdown...i'm scared of you now.
I'd rather just help somebody else host one. I'd be down with working up a flyer and hitting the street, inviting other cafes. Sunshine never delivered on my training milk, so we got them to agree to donate milk to a jam.
How do you feel about gathering samples from all the new roasters in town and brewing up french press pots for folks to try. Would you be down with that? I can do the foot work. The cafe that was in business at our location before we took over left 9 air pots and a over a dozen french press pots that we never use. So logistically, it works.
Cherry Roasters, St Johns Coffee Roasters, Cellar Door Coffee Roasters, Blue Kangaroo Coffee Roasters. . . I may even get my old boss to throw down some 10 Speed Coffee beans.
Throwdown at the LRBC would be awesome! i could probably get my roaster to donate a few pounds too! The only thing for me is that my shop closes at midnight so i don't get out of there till 12 30 or 1, so way late night would work, or i could just show up late
Red Rock Coffee will be offering a new Guatemalan from Acehtenango in the French Press starting in about a week. This coffee comes from finca La Soledad, a farm which won Honors in the C.O.E. in Guatemala this year, and is owned by the Perez famil...
"it is forcing the barista to use a double basket to make a single espresso."
The shop I used to work in where we used nakeds, our menu listed "Espresso": If you ordered espresso you got a 2 oz double pulled with a dose around the 19 gram mark, pr...
I like naturals if they are done well. They are so risky though. Roasting them is interesting as well. I am a huge fan of pulp natarual coffees though!! Far fewer processing deffects. Really the best of washed and dried combined.
We have some quite large international clients- Hotel groups and a cafe chain. They chose us because I believe our product is ecellent, our service better than what they would get from an off-shore coffee conglomerate. The struggle is of course th...
